But if I didn't agree with WIllis' suggestions, I'd politely turn him down but diplomatically enough so that I may in future, ask him to be in my film if needbe.

There is no point to that question because you could easily find another company to buy the version of the documentary you want to make. I realise that this is a question of 'what if' but who cares. It's not an interesting dilema.

Personally, documentaries bore the crap out of me, and if I was making them, I would be in the wrong job. I just mean me personally, if some raggedy stranger knocks on my door, he better convince me I feel like making a documentary about him and his pals.

hairbrain, this reminds me of a question that has already been asked on this forum about 6 weeks ago...
I'd say forget the co-writer. Once the film is done, and the ex-co-writer raises his voice, let the production company and their lawyers settle the argument.

Yeah Tom... I noticed that a little while after the thred was started... `I'm not from round these parts` so I miss things every now and then. Interesting though....
Everyone here seems so pussy footed and do-goody.... where's the drive, where`s the ambition, where's the backbone? I suppose the point is that no-one would ever admit to potential skull-duggery in public... especially not amongst people you might end up workin with. Oh well bit of a stupid thred wasn't it?

I always thought film was meant to break ethical boundaries and shock people in new and different ways.
Hollywood treads a careful path, meeting audience expectation in almost all circumstances, whereas smaller film production peeps do strange bizzarre, shocking films. It's only every now and then that we such films about persecution of the Jews or films with a happy ending. I still believe a WTC film will be about sooner or later.
I also think documentaries are crap. Except for the exception of Blair Witch Project, documentary cum horror. Or whatever. LoL.
